So I took a break after the Mykonos madness to spend some quality time with the hubby and the boys. We headed to Lulworth Cove in Dorset for a bit of camping and R&R but we do it Foy Style!!
Lulworth Castle hosts this incredible family event every year and this was its 10th anniversary. Rob da Bank it's curator did not fail us and pulled off an amazing job of arranging the perfect child friendly music festival.
I won't lie… we "glamped" it in the boutique campsite. Thanks to Jools and Eran at Sleeping Belles, (www.sleepingbelles.com) our bell tent, double bed, pillows, duvet and fairy lights were all ready for our arrival Friday morning…. don't judge…..life is really too short. Also, the hubby and I would definitely stretch tensions trying to put anything together after 3 hours in a car together…. the spoilt option was well worth it for an enjoyable start to our weekend.
Sadly the rain started on Friday afternoon and didn't really stop until Sunday morning. We were soaked….continuously, but having bought 4 new waterproofs and wellies we were ready to cope!!
From the incredibly uplifting Sarah Cox's 80s revival on Friday night to the even more nostalgic sounds of Brian Wilson on Sunday there was something for all of us.
The highlight for me and my 5yr old on Friday was the energetic and joyous Mark Ronson. He absolutely nailed it and had all of us in tears of pure happiness.
If you've never seen him live… make moves to change that.
Saturday we had the ridiculously immature Dick and Dom encouraging all the kids to shout "bogies" and they all played along and simply loved it!!!
Then Madness took to the stage and owned it like only they can…. needn't say more…Madness!
Finally, Sunday brought dryer weather and so the pop stars and rocks stars fancy dress theme was revitalised…. thank god.
The 5 year old whipped out his outfit at 8am regardless of the mud, perhaps inspired by Friday's Uptown Funk.
Not shy!! Bruno Mars take note!! The 8yr old took a little longer to warm into the idea, but we got there in the end…
Feeling the beat!
We made it to the centre front of the stage for much of the day the 5 year old even made it onto the large screen!!
But the final highlight for me was Leftfield playing Leftism…..OUTSTANDING! To hear those incredible sounds took me right back to uni days and I'd forgotten how much I truly loved it… thank you, thank you, thank you Leftfield!
All in all this weekend was about a break with the family. I took a break from work, a break from life coaching and a little break from JustClaire but I did spend a fabulous weekend with my family (even my sis and her family where there!!) and some really great friends…..
Most of all, I was inspired beyond belief for the next set of pictures…. music, love, family, friends fun…. and of course glitter!!
But first the washing….
